Idle stables in cold wallets: a journaling blind spot

Idle stablecoin balances often arrive in offline wallets after estate transfers, OTC settlements, or paused deployment plans. Holders forget to give them a sleeve name. Allocation journals then understate cash-like weight.

Give idle balances a label

Create an explicit “staging” or “reserves” sleeve with a max weight and a review trigger (for example, thirty days after deposit). Without a label, the balance hides inside another sleeve’s story.

Performance is not only price

For staging sleeves, the journal cares about time parked and intent, not yield. Note why the balance is waiting. If the reason expired, the next entry should say so.
